Less dense than helium would immediately rise ot the ceiling unless the picture is taken in a vacuum.

If the material is strong enough to withstand air pressure, it would float when made with vacuum bubbles inside => lighter than air. Most aerogels are quite fragile, though.

They probably forgot to mentoin that it's full of air. Kinda like a balloon is lighter than air when large enough... If you substract the air inside. Typical news site click bait title. Cool material though.
